Call for Abstracts

WDSA-CCWI 2026 will be held at Aliathon Resort in Paphos, Cyprus, 18-21 May 2026. To prepare an outstanding technical program, we invite you to submit:

  • Regular Conference Abstracts (option to submit a full paper if the abstract is accepted)
  • Special Session Conference Abstracts (option to submit a full paper if the abstract is accepted)
  • Industrial Conference Abstracts

that will complement the technical program by providing all participants with a view of the recent advances in designing the next generation of urban water and wastewater systems.

Submission Guidelines

To manage all submitted abstracts effectively and ensure the publication of high-quality papers, a two-phase review process will be implemented, led by the local organizing committee.

  • In the first phase, authors submit extended abstracts (between 500 and 1000 words, excluding references), covering the aim, methodology, originality, and results, as outlined in the call for abstracts. Two international reviewers will evaluate the abstracts with respect to quality, originality, and relevance to the conference. Abstracts receiving positive evaluations from both reviewers will be accepted; if reviews differ, a third reviewer will decide. Reviewers may also suggest alternative conference topics if needed.
  • If the authors of accepted regular or special session abstracts choose, they have the option to submit a full (6-8 page) paper to be published in the conference proceedings. Each full paper will be reviewed for quality, and feedback will be sent to authors for any revisions that need to be addressed to be included in the conference proceedings. Full papers should be submitted in standard A4 paper format, following the template provided on the conference website, to comply with the publisher’s requirements.

All abstracts and papers, must be submitted electronically through the platform.
